My second attempt at my budding modelmaking career. I did this back in college over the summer. I was the young one in a two man team. But make no mistake, I contributed to half of this model. It was a blast. I loved every minute of it, but as I say in my "About" section, modelmaking is going the way of the dodo...
Honestly, model building was my first choice at careers. I absolutely LOVE building stuff with my hands. I find no greater joy. It was a hobby of mine as a kid, I built all kinds of crap. My affinity for model building is probably why I like 3D so much too. It's model building, only on the computer. When I got into that world I started to discover the long uphill battle I'd have to fight to get in a make a decent living. 3D was just starting to get big, and when I asked my mentor, Jack Sessums, if 3D would ever take over, he said, "Not a chance." It's a good thing I trusted my instincts, because here we are 10 years later, and hand models are all but dead.
